For
all of you musicians and sound techies out
there... I have been trying every acoustic
pickup and acoustic amplifier for years... Some
instruments, such as the waldzither, with its low and
skinny bridge and lute soundhole - I haven't
found anything to even try on it!
I
haven't got the amplification nailed down yet, but I
have found my acoustic pickups. After trying a
couple McIntyre feathers in combination with my
magnetic pickups or piezo pickups on the resonator and
mandolin instruments - I gave David a call and talk to
him for about an hour and a half about my instruments
and experiments. I ordered 4 pickups. I
had one installed on my dobro mandolin, the waldzither
and the Weissenborn in the first evening - and I did
it myself! They sound great - I've never heard a
better sounding amplified Weissenborn. Nick
Forster put one on his - now I know why. I've
since called David back to let him know I totally
endorse these pickups and ordered another batch of
them to continue with the experiments!!!
