I sat in  with Dave Zobl as an opening act for Christine Kane at

Swallow Hill Music Association

In the main auditorium (and practicing backstage), two monsters of mandolin were playing - Chris Thile and Mike Marshall.

I played on three songs with three different instruments.  A guitar, a Weissenborn and a mandolin.

Mexico

I took a short vacation in Mexico.  I met some travelers there from Texas and Canada.

Peter Rowan

I went to Doolittle Farms in Leavenworth Kansas for a Bluegrass Festival.  I got to see the great Peter Rowan.  It got pretty cold that night and they had to bring up some hot water and shirts for Peter's band to stay warm.

I got to spend some time right here in the Colorado Rockies.  As we drove in to the campsite, it had recently snowed!  

Kona Hawaiian Guitar

Here's my new honey.  A rare Kona Hawaiian guitar.  They are believed to be made by Weissenborn and this one was probably made around 1926.  It is a style 4 kona guitar, which means it has all the pretty rope binding.  I'm calling her honey because she's sweet and has that rich honey color.
