Contact Dwight

Dwight moved to the Northwest Denver Highlands neighborhood in July of 2005.  The house was built in 1890 and is similar to the historic Denver Squares that were built in the decades to follow.  The house received renovations including the removal of a wall between the living and family room which opened up into one room with 10-foot ceilings large enough for the performing artist and 40 seats.  Dwight kicked off a house concert series which featured many touring national acts and local musicians.

Nashville artist, Celeste Krenz helped get the house concert series started followed by Chicago slide guitar champion, Kraig Kenning.

Kraig Kenning returned in September 2006.  We drove across Colorado to play gigs at Bongo Billys in Salida and the Crystal Club Cafe in Redstone.  The aspens were turning beautifully as we drove through independence pass.

After 10 years of playing mostly acoustic instruments, I returned to my Chicago roots and began playing electric guitar again.  I sat in with Nashville songwriter, Buddy Mondlock on my new Telecaster.

We kicked off the 2006 season with a songwriters in the round concert featuring The Winstons and Rich Moore..

With grammy award winning fingerstyle guitarist and former Paul McCartney and Wings bandmate, Laurence Juber.  We're holding our Martin Juber model guitars.

I was already a big fan of Mollie O'Brien and John Magnie of the Subdudes before moving to Colorado, but what a thrill it has been to have them perform on my CDs and then come to my home for some very special concerts.

Christmas 2005

For the Christmas holiday, the living room concert hall and chairs were converted to host international students from the ELS Language Centers in Denver.  Special thanks to Pat and the students for making my first holiday in the new house one I'll always cherish.

A Trip to Kauai Hawaii

I was fortunate enough to get away for a week on Kauai.  This is the island that inspired songs on both of my CDs.  This time was very rainy, but I was able to see the Napali coast from above and below.  I brought my baritone ukulele and rocked out on the beach.

Summer Festival Gigs

It was a privilege to return the Highlands Street Fair, Cherry Creek Arts and Colorado Dragon Boat festivals and to be joined by some great musicians.  I asked the Winstons, members of the Layers, and Jack Hadley to join me for the shows.

I decided to write the official song of the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival.  At the show, I was joined by many of the staff and guest emcees.  Listen to a demo of Dwight's new Dragon Boat song written for the 2006 Colorado Dragon Boat Festival.

The Oriental Theater Reopens

The great Oriental Theater in Denver was reopened on New Year's Eve.  I've had the great pleasure of playing there in 2006.  My first performance was opening for the Romero Theater Troupe's play "Speak American".  Recently I played their Acoustic Tribute shows for Van Morrison and Bruce Springsteen which included many great local performing artists.

You can check out more fantastic photos of the Van Morrison Tribute show from Tim Sutherland here.
