May
I've recorded the guitar, mandolin and bouzouki parts as well as my
lead vocals for 6 songs. The band has also laid down their
tracks. Bob Tyler is really doing a great job with my music.
Celeste is helping me with my singing and really encouraging me. The
songs are sounding great thanks to the studio musicians, Steve Amedee,
John Magnie & Chris Engleman.
So now I'm off to Italy and Greece!!! Catch y'all when I
get back to the states. |

April
20th - CD
Planning
I've been working with Bob Tyler,
who will produce my first CD. We've picked the 5 of the 6 songs we
will record on Wednesday and he's helping with some re-writes. |
Dysfunction Junction at the
Falling Rock Tap House
Another great night at the
Rock. I brought out 8 instruments and played them all! Check
out the Dysfunction Junction
Website for more pictures of the night. |
| The crappy new resonator slide guitar went over well.

|
I also played Peter Gabriel's "In Your
Eyes" Hawaiian slide style...

April
19th - Gig with Howard at The Falling Rock
I
hadn't played out in a couple weeks and decided to take out the
instruments to the Falling Rock. Howard and I setup and just
jammed. I had enough equipment for a rock and a bluegrass
band. I got to practice some of my originals and even play some
stuff in the works. Howard and I did a decent job of the Allman
Bros. "Melissa".

April
13th

I've
been
spending way too much time on the internet...
After
8 weeks of gigging every weekend - the band and the my fellow songwriters
finally took break. I've been working with Celeste
Krenz and Bob Tyler on the planning of my first CD. I've also
been on the internet researching and planning my trip to Italy and Greece.
Although
I've managed to sell a dozen or so instruments to raise some CD production
money - I still gained a few instruments. Micah, of the band Zebra
Junction, helped me convert this tenor guitar into an 8-string
bouzouki. In the photo, I'm hanging out at the Museum of Natural
History - waiting for the IMAX show.

Charlie
Provenza and Gypsy
Mandolin

I
spent some time this week with Charlie Provenza - an incredible mandolin
player. We have setup the his website with a performance schedule
and merchandise information. He's playing with the Denver Mandolin
Orchestra at the Wynkoop Brewery next Sunday. I can't wait to check
it out. Charlie keeps trying to convince me to join. Find out
more and check out the website we built at: http://pages.prodigy.net/cpmusic/

Easter Sunday... |
Easter
Sunday...
Here's a shot of Easter in Colorado.
I was invited to my good friend, Janet's house for a
home-cooked meal. It was fabulous. I grew up in Illinois with
Janet and it was great to spend some time with her family. |

Easter Evening...
I spent some time in the afternoon outside practicing with all my
instruments. When I got home from dinner I setup the T.V. and
watched Indiana Jones - The Last Crusade - by the fire and in the jacuzzi.
I was pleasantly surprised to see the opening scenes in Venice,
Italy. Just a few more weeks and I'll be there...
I continue my "hands on" research of the areas in Italy by
drinking a bottle of Tuscany wine each evening... |
