March 23rd - Dysfunction Junction Gig at the Falling Rock Tap House What a fun night! The busiest night I can remember there. It was like the Mardi Gras gig in Boulder. From the moment we stepped on stage the crowd inched its way off the dance floor and onto the stage. I brought my new 5 string electric mandolin and rocked out. I also met some great people in the crowd - hope to see them again at the gigs. I updated the Dysfunction Junction site at www.dysfunk.net with more pictures from the gig.
Stephen Bennett at Olde Town Pickin' Parlor Stephen Bennett is a master on the guitar and one of the few Harp Guitar players around. He had a show at the Olde Town Pickin' Parlor. Unfortunately, I had my show that evening, but I went there before he started and watched his soundcheck. Wow! What an amazing player. He played some killer slide guitar. He was nice enough to check out my Harp Guitar and give me some pointers on how to tune it up. I wish I was able to see the concert. Next time... Maybe by then I'll have a clue on how to even consider playing the harp guitar.
In the Studio - On Wednesday the 21st, I went into the studio to record an inventory of demos. Unfortunately, I am still recovering from my sore throat, but I managed to squeak my way through another 12 songs! I plan to give it to a producer so we can begin planning my debut CD.
