Holidays - Bear in White Ranch Park Camping - August 17th Gigs CD Update
Holidays While we were hiking in White Ranch Park in the Golden area, Gail spotted a bear.	It felt a little odd having the holiday fall on the weekend of my birthday in August.  Anyway, my friend, Gail, flew in from Chicago and we drove up to Vail to see some old friends.  Dave Andersen, who has been living up in Vail after moving from the Chicago area 5 years ago, was playing with Kraig Kenning, who flew in for the week from Chicago.  They put on a great show and of course Kraig was incredible on dobro - as any of my star students should be.  Just joking Kraig... Sunday, we went to a Hawaiian party at my friend's house in Golden and saw a fabulous concert - James Taylor at Red Rocks - he was so good.

Camping - Kenosha Pass

Friday, August 17th On Friday, I spontaneously decided to go camping near Jackson Lake.  The skies were clear and moonless.  Lying on the ground in my sleeping bag, I watched the shooting stars.  On Saturday, it became windy at sunset and I decided to take the truck for a spin through the 4-wheeler trails and splash through the mud puddles. Marlo and his son showed up Saturday night and we got to play some music.  We also went on a nice hike.

Gigs I've been playing the standing gig at the Falling Rock, as well as continued following the Bob and Celeste show.  They played in Fort Collins with John Magnie, Steve Amedee and Tim Cook - the 3 Twins.  Katelyn - future teen superstar also got up with the band.  Bob & Celeste have just finished her project. Katelyn and I, as well as some other songwriters played at the Lowell Street Coffeehouse at Celeste's show.  We each got to play a set of our own songs.  I sat in on mandolin with Celeste on that show and also at the Westminster outdoor concert series in the park.

Below:  I also had a gig with Dysfunction Junction in Denver at B52s.  I got to try out my recent creation.  I converted an old archtop guitar into a 10-string cittern.

CD Update   Now that Katelyn's project is finished, my CD is being mixed this week and will be mastered by the end of the month.  I've heard a few tracks and it's sounding great!
Celeste and I are still working on photos for the CD artwork and will hopefully have that ready by the end of August so we can send off the whole project for final production of the CDs.
