Black Canyon National Park	I took a drive up to Montrose and did some hiking in Black Canyon National Park.  Click Here to see more pictures.  I drove through Gunnison up to Mt. Crested Butte.  Celeste Krenz had a concert up there and I played with Sammy as the band peformed.
	Thom Sumbler hosted a songwriter's circle at his place in the mountains.  Even the neighborhood fox attended the jam.  ...Some good eatin', singing and playing.

 

Falling Rock Gig

Holidays...   I took a short trip home to Chicago and got to see lots of relatives and I spent time with my nieces and nephews.
June 28th Weekend   Celeste Krenz and Bob Tyler played the Little Bear with their band.  I sat in on mandolin on a couple tunes. I had my standing gig with Dysfunction Junction at the Falling Rock on Friday and played at a songwriter's circle on Saturday.
July 4th - I spent the evening with some new friends who had a party on the roof of their lofts downtown.  We could see all the fireworks displays and I met some cool people.  I walked over to the Falling Rock and a bunch of us were playing "Songburst" reliving the songs of the 70's and 80's.	Bob and Celeste are traveling this week, but when they get back, Bob will be mixing my CD and Celeste and I will work on the artwork.

I had a nice drive to Eldora.  Drove in a stream to get to the Indian Peaks trailhead.
This is one of very first hikes I tried when I came to Colorado and it is always refreshing to reach the waterfall.  A gust of wind took my mandolin case and put it in the waterfall.  The water was so fast I couldn't find it, but a hiker found it caught on a branch and retrieved it for me!
	My cousin's had a garage sale so I spent the morning with them and played with the baby for a while...
I've had this big dying juniper in front of my house, so my neighbor decided it was time to yank it out...

Chicks - And I Ain't Talkin' Dixie After 3 years of moving the gourds around in my backyard and filling birdfeeders, some chickadees have nested and brought some little chicks...  I'm very proud and happy!
In the Studio and the Streets... Well, I went back into the studio...  While I was in Tuscany I wrote the words to Down in Tuscany...  I arrived in Rome and wrote the melody.  In Greece I began to hear a mandolin orchestra.  So this weekend I wrote out the parts and recorded the song singing and playing the bass fiddle, mandolins, mandola, mandocello, bouzouki and waldzither.	Howard, Frank and I busked on the corner near Coors Field...

Jessica's CD Project I met Jessica while I was recording the first tracks of my CD.  I was leaving for Italy a week later and she set me up to stay with her family in Trieste - her hometown.  While I was in Italy, she recorded a great CD here in Denver.
I got back and she had a week before she would return to Italy and needed to get a batch of CDs together to hold her over until the real production  would be completed.  I burned CDs and we printed, cut and assembled her first batch!
Then she was off to return home to Italy.  She left us with a great CD and I hope to return to Trieste - maybe she'll even be there when I go next time !!!
