The Holiday Weekend had
arrived. I started on Saturday, hauling the mud that
had been snowed on with Denver's crazy weather. I took
down the waterfall I started the weekend before and built up
the mound.
I cut another piece of liner
and started laying the rocks again.
Saturday
afternoon I stopped and went down to the Denver Blues and
Bones festival to see Larry McCray, Roy Rogers and Taj Mahal.
Sunday I continued laying the
rocks for the waterfall and used the black foam to fill in
the gaps and leaks. Then I was off to Bob Tyler and Celeste
Krenz's going away party. They packed up the house
and are preparing for the move to Nashville. Everyone
was there and I played with John Magnie and Bob Tyler.
Mollie O'brien, Rich Moore and many, many others all played
that night.
It
was a long Memorial Day Morning. My neighbors Brittany
and Justin - I think they're around 8 - 10 years old -
anyway... they wanted to help so they shoveled the dirt into
the wheelbarrow and help me build up the waterfall
more. I laid the rocks, installed the filter and wired
up the light and sat down to watch the Avalanche win with my
friends Heather and David.
I
still have more dirt to fill in the sides and plants to put
in the gaps.
The proud, sunburned and broke
waterfall man.
I still have to build up the
back and hide the filter on top, but it's looking pretty
good for now.
I'm also thinking that I may
have to mortar the flagstone edges. I'm probably going to
dig up the rest of the sod in the area and lay pebbles.

Time to catch some
zzzzz's to the sound of running water...
